Yes please! I actually hired a professional organiser recently... but we didn't touch the recipe files. We did, however, cull the recipe books. (SOB!)

When one of my friends got married someone (I think it was her Mum I can’t quite remember now), asked everyone who was going to attend her kitchen tea to send over a recipe so they could make a folder/scrapbook for her. I gave her a cupcake recipe that her Mum also asked me to make some of for the day as well. I had completely forgotten about it all until now, I will have to ask her if she’s ever made anything from that jumble of recipes!

This is such a lovely idea Kath, please let us know if she has ever made anything, and whether they became favourites...thanks for sharing.

Love the idea of wedding recipes! And the fact that you test recipes then if they're good they go into the big orange book. I do the same. I have a big red recipe book - two actually, from Corban and Blair, which are so tattered and stuffed with pages and recipes but have somehow survived due to their plastic covers. It's always a gamble trying to find a recipe - are they in the new-old recipe book, or the old-old recipe book? :)

Anyway, another lovely edition. Thank you.

I love Corban and Blair stationery and still have a few battered books from them. And I agree with the gamble of guessing which book a particular recipe is in; plus, I always end up being distracted by so many others...delicious procrastination! Maybe we need to run a poll on how our readers manage their ever-growing files!

Love the ‘paarsties’ stories! 😊

You know, this kind of writing is so important because it looks into the ordinariness of life and helps us live into what is truly special in it. It’s like a painter or novelist who find in their subjects (even not so nice ones) that ‘essence’ that makes them shine, and endearing. We NEED to see through such eyes, in order to not get bogged down. I apologize if it’s inappropriate to go on like this, but I’d like to add, that your writing flows so naturally. I have a brain injury that makes reading slow and difficult, yet I can read your posts quickly and their life, ideas and images come through with ease and vividness. It uplifts and relaxes me.

I hope we get to see a picture of a pastie. It’s the first time I’ve heard of them. Then, maybe I’ll try the recipe. ☀️☀️☀️

Thanks for your kind words Guadalupe, your wish will be granted tomorrow morning (Australian time) when my version of the recipe will be posted along with some images - I hope you enjoy the post, and the pasty if you decide to make it. Thanks so much for your support.
